22.02.2012: "Sit down and seize the moment" exhibition
Kolo chair by Jouko Järvisalo at "Sit down and seize the moment" exhibition.Helsinki Airport has opened a new Art Port - gallery concept, which is also part of the official World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 program. The first gallery to open was the Design Gallery on the 16th of February. “Sit down and seize the moment” exhibition in the Design gallery consists of 15 chairs by Finnish designers, including the Kolo chair by Jouko Järvisalo. The travelers are also encouraged to sit down, and it’s even possible to block out the noise of the airport by borrowing a pair of hearing protectors from the gallery. This way the gallery intends to offer a possibility to relax and reduce travelling stress by enjoying Finnish Design and restfulness. Design Gallery is located at gate 11 and it’s open to all passengers.
